Not an April Fool’s Joke, but a Good Friday

I am someone who believes strongly in strength of character, community service, social activism, cultural revolutions, and peaceful warriors. And although I am celebrating the Jewish holiday of Passover, I am dedicating the following dish to peaceful revolutionaries past and present on this Good Friday.

Jesus was a man who was said to have fed the multitudes on 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. And although I have no idea what his food cost was (?!), we will be giving away 12 complimentary portions of Asian Carp to those who write in to thepickledtongue@gmail.com expressing what their religious, spiritual beliefs, or lack thereof, means to you (a tweet’s worth of 140 characters please). If you prefer to shout it loud and proud, you can also just leave a comment below.

Winners will be selected at 4:30pm and the price of the fish will be on the house.

To those snickering about the carp. This is not a day late April Fool’s joke. I have just seen the delivery of carp that came in this morning, and I am putting my 20+ year career on the line that one will be hard pressed to  find someone who will not enjoy it prepared properly.

So if you want to be among the very first to give it a try and perhaps even inadvertently assist in diminishing the population in our waters, send me a message.

To all, we will be selling the following preparations at the price of $18. Make a reservation at 312-917-3404 and let me know you’re here for this.

This is the preparation:

Not an April Fool’s Joke, but a Good Friday
Slowly Roasted Asian Carp, Provençal Beans with Crabmeat, Grilled Radicchio, Fennel, and Aioli

God and I have an agreement, I try not to eff it all up, and when I do, he tries to forgive me if I promise not to do it again. It’s worked for me thus far!
